*sigh* I’ve held it off as long as I could, but alas, fall is officially here. Every year around this time I always feel a conflicting sense of sadness, but also excitement for the months ahead. I am a summer girl through and through, but I do enjoy the benefits of fall just as much as the next girl (just don’t tell summer I said that). I’ve already started my annual Gilmore Girls rewatch, baked cookies, and burned a fall scented candle. I’m doing my best over here.
With autumn in full swing, I wanted to share a little roundup of things I’m loving right now — my fashion favorites, some things on my wishlist, trends I’m liking, etc. etc.
If I had to choose, I think a coat might be my favorite item of clothing — which is crazy considering I absolutely hate the winter and everything associated with it, but theres something about outerwear that just makes an outfit look so good. Speaking of making something look so good, I truly have not stopped thinking about this trench coat since I saw it on @Pigmami. Sadly, a $2k cow print coat is not in my budget, but I did find a dupe from Nasty Gal.
This wool blend jacket from Abercombie is absolutely *chefs kiss* — It screams chic Scandinavian Pinterest girl. So does this leather jacket from Free People. This denim jacket is also so good… its a bit more elevated than your typical jean jacket — I really love the zipper in place of the usual buttons, and I’m also really into dark washed denim for fall. Another not so basic jean jacket is the Will Jacket from Sézane. Ive had it in my cart for awhillllle… I think it might be time to finally pull the trigger. I’m envisioning it styled with skirt and these knee high boots.

I’ve also been loving an oversized carpenter jacket, I shared how I styled mine below.

What is fall without cozy sweaters? For me, sweaters fall into four main categories —
Cardigans - a good cardigan is a closet essential in my opinion. Sézane is a great place to get sweaters in general, but their Gaspard Cardigan is one of my all time favorites. Its so versatile and comes in so many colors. I also have my eye on this one from Sézane and this one from Free People.
Boxy/cropped - my personal favorite. I love the silhouette of a boxy/cropped sweater on me and I find myself reaching for this style most often. This one from Everlane is one of my most worn sweaters — I have it in black but the gray one is definitely calling my name.
Oversized - the comfiest of the sweaters and thus, perhaps, the most superior. My favorite of all time is the Rosie Sweater from Anine Bing. This one from Reformation also looks perfect.
Fitted - if a sweater is fitted it has to be special or else its a no go for me. I love this one from Mango and this one from J.Crew.

My favorite trend right now — waistcoats. I cant get enough of them. There are so many ways to style them and they really elevate an outfit. I love seeing them paired with skirts, or pants and they’re also perfect for layering.
In my cart:

One thing I do love about fall is the footwear. If you told me a few years ago that I’d be wearing ballet flats again I truly would not have believed you, but I’ve really come around to them now that there’s been a resurgence. I recently bought these inexpensive ones from Amazon just to see how I felt about them, and now I want every ballet flat I see. I love these, these, and these.
Nothing screams fall to me quite like a loafer. I can’t explain it, its just a fall shoe. I love wearing loafers with a skirt and ankle socks, or with jeans. Heres a few pairs that I have my eye on:

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention boots — I think this is the best thing about fall if I’m being honest. I have these from Vince Camuto and I love them so much. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect western boot that isn’t too cowboy-esque, and I’m thinking these might be perfect. I definitely do not need another pair of ankle boots, but how cool are these from Ganni?
To my core, I am a sneaker girl. As much as I want to be a heels girl, I will almost always go for a sneaker when given the choice. Here are a few on my wishlist right now:

My mom used to tell me that I had a bag issue because I truly own so many. Even when I was a kid, I loved adding a cool bag to spice up an outfit. I’ve been drooling over this coach bag since I saw it — I love the metallic trend that came about last year and I’m so happy that its still alive and well. This one by Polène is one of my favorites that I got last spring, and I’m excited to style it for fall as well. The Half Moon Bag from The Row seems like THE bag this season… maybe I’m just late but I feel like this bag blew up overnight and I’ve been seeing it absolutely everywhere. I love the asymmetry of this bag so much, however my wallet will just not allow it — this one looks like a more affordable alternative. Anthropologie has a noteworthy selection of bags right now — I think I might have to buy this one, the color is just too good. I also love this one (under $100), and this one.
So there we have it. Even though i’ve left claw marks on summer, I’ve finally accepted fall — AND I’ve finally started substack after thinking about it for awhile. So, thanks for reading if you’ve made it this far — I really am grateful. Let me know what you’re wearing/loving/excited for this season — i’d love to chat!
